"How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these." ~George Washington Carver
There are several "Mamaisms" I am reminded of. My late Mama used to say things such as, "Don't burn bridges", and "You never know who might have to bring you a glass of water." And she summed most everything up with, "Just keep on living."
What we do to people and how we treat them will not only impact their lives, but our own lives as well. Treat people the way you want to be treated. You may not be in a vulnerable position right now (young, aged, striving, weak), but "just keep on living." One day you just might need for someone else to "bring you a glass of water." Remember not to "burn bridges". You never know when you may very well need those you've come in contact with before.
Will someone else be willing to assist you someday in the future based on the way you've treated them in the past?
